Over the years, many guests have made their way to Red Horse Vineyard B & B. Our goal is to make your visit a fun, memorable and beautiful experience. Here is what our guests have had to say.
Warm, Welcoming and Genuine Hosts
A lovely place run by lovely people! I would love to go back to Albuquerque just to spend more time there. My partner and I stayed here for one night during our California to New York road trip. The property itself is quite remarkable: the 1800s farmhouse was lovingly renovated by the proprietors – originally as their family home – and is tastefully decorated with unique, beautiful heirlooms and local art. We stayed in the Heritage room, which was spacious and comfortable, but were lucky enough to get a peek at all of the beautiful rooms available, and can say that they all look amazing! Needless to say, our room – and all the others we saw – were immaculate. At the time of our visit, they had just finished pouring concrete on their new access ramp – it’s lovely to see how much thought Darlene and her father Carl have put into making their property accessible to everyone.
More remarkable even than the property, though, is the level of hospitality we received. Darlene and Carl are warm, welcoming and genuine hosts who treated us as though we were part of the family. Upon our arrival, Carl greeted us and took us on an hour long, story-filled tour of the property, culminating in a visit to his wine cellar (and a tasting of his homemade wines). In the morning, Darlene served a delicious and bountiful breakfast featuring eggs from the hens that roam freely around their yard. We even bought a couple of clay ornaments (made onsite) to remind us of the experience.
In all, I cannot recommend this place enough. Carl and Darlene exemplify the kind of homey hospitality that travelers seek in B&Bs. If you’re seeking a respite from the impersonal uniformity of hotel chains, this is the place be.
Breakfast Was Delicious
We had a wonderful one night (wish it was longer!) stay at the Red Horse Vineyard B & B. The innkeeper’s (grand)daughter accommodated our late-night check-in and was bright and cheery the next morning. The breakfast was delicious. The history and tour of the Inn, winery and workshop is not to be missed. I would recommend including a stay at this Inn if you are touring any part of the southwest. Every detail has been covered including a lotion scented with flowers grown on the premises. I will definitely return if I travel to the area again and recommend it to family and friends.
You Will Be Delighted
Just a few minutes from the airport, hidden in a suburban neighborhood but with 5 acres of room, this delightful B&B will charm you to the bones. Quirky, stuffed with homey farm antiques & travel mementos, full of character, historic but very modern with everything a business or leisure traveler could need. I have stayed in 100’s of B&Bs across the world and this one has it all. The rooms & their baths are large, spotless, beautifully decorated in a tasteful SW style and have every amenity, including a large work desk and comfy robes.
The common areas are large with a pool table and even a wine tasting station where you can sample (and buy) the nice little wines grandpa Carl makes from their own grapes. The property is delightful to roam if you need a little me time. Chickens, pottery barn, flowering trees and bushes, water feature, and farm antiques are just some of the delights. They sell their own line of pottery, made on premises, with a very Scandinavian feel.
But what sets this B&B apart from nearly all others is the warmth and charm of the owners and family. Darlene and her father Carl are the true prize here. You will feel like you are visiting family on their charming historic suburban farm. A little hard to find and you will wonder where it could possibly be amid the small houses crowding this old adobe neighborhood. But you will be delighted when you finally arrive.
Feels Like I’m Part of the Family
I’ve now stayed at Red Horse three times and have referred others to it who have also stayed during trips to Albuquerque. It certainly feels like I’m part of the family with every visit. The expansion and remodel turned out beautifully providing space to display the amazing array of antiques they have collected from around the world. I look forward to my future visits to the Red Horse Vineyard.
Look No Further
The B&B is full of history and charm. Baths have wonderful personal amenities sourced from local artisans. Beds are comfy with soft sheets and good pillows. If you have the time you’re able to wander around the grounds or take a dip in the pool or hot tub. Breakfast is served at a table where you’re able to enjoy Darlene’s sweet and savory crepes while visiting with other guests. If you’re looking for a place to get away for a bit, look no further.
Very Hospitable and Welcoming
We were driving across the country and found the Red Horse Vineyard B&B. The owners were nice, very hospitable and welcoming. It was like staying with family. We were so tired, all we wanted to do was stay in the room. Our room was really lovely. It had charm and was quite comfortable to rest our weary heads. We weren’t sure if we were in the right spot since the surrounding neighborhood felt a little run down, but as soon as we arrived at the B&B we felt comfortable and at ease. Really nice people. I’d recommend this place to everyone!
Perfect for Families, Couples, or Business
It is the perfect cozy Bed & Breakfast. Our kids loved playing in the large fenced in yard. There is a playground, a pool, and a hot tub. The rooms are perfect for families, couples, or business travelers. We enjoyed talking and sharing stories with the owners and other guests at the breakfast table.
Everything You’d Want
This is one of the best B&Bs that I have ever stayed at. It has everything you’d want in a B&B … hospitable owners, a great breakfast, a wine tasting, beautifully decorated with pottery, art and knick-knacks. The hostesses’ dad is an 80+ year old character that makes the wine, the pottery, has written books, run an antique store, and raised race horses, as well as a multitude of other jobs and hobbies.
